Away supporters will be situated in the East Stand at the GIS and should purchase tickets via the Sunderland Box Office.

Getting here

We recommend using public transport on matchdays. The nearest Metro station is Gateshead Stadium (15-minute walk), while the 94 bus stops on Neilson Road.

No general parking on match day—only pre-paid Season Parking Passes (Lower Car Park, 100m from the entrance). However, you can find parking on Quarryfield Road (NE8 3AE), which is a 20-minute walk and costs about £5.70 for up to 12 hours.

Programmes

On your way in, remember to collect your matchday programme, which will be available from the North & South entrances to the Tyne & Wear Stand, with limited copies also at the main reception and retail outlet

12:40 – Pack out your matchday

Once you’re in the stadium, there’s plenty to do before kick-off.

Entertainment and activities

As always at the GIS, we will be bringing you good vibes and good music ahead of kick-off, and this can be found outside (weather permitting) before you reach our amazing food and drink vendors. This is the best way to soak up the atmosphere before the game with fellow supporters, and why not grab a drink – which you can take to your seat– and enjoy some tunes with our pitchside DJ.

Bringing younger kids? Get to the stadium early to ensure you don’t miss the chance to get a high-five and have your selfie taken with club mascots Monty and Maggie. We also have our Creative Zone open, where you can get stuck into some Toon-themed crafts; this can be found in room 10, just off the concourse. Plus, head to the Fanzone pitchside for some complimentary face paint!

After a quiet space before or during the match? Or just want some space and time to yourself? Room 9 on the concourse will be your place to head to, where you will find our Quiet Room.

Food and Drink

Tuck into pies, sausage rolls, chips, and hot dogs from the catering outlets along the concourse, but remember that all facilities in the concourse are cashless.

Head to the pitch-side Fan Zone for your choices of amazing food. The fan-favourite Hog Roast van will be there, and back by popular demand, Crepe Expectations are returning to serve up their delicious crepes and crumble.

Drinking in the bowl is here to stay for the 26/27 season. So, if you fancy an alcoholic drink, you’re welcome to take it to your seat with you. Of course, in the concourse there will be hot and cold drinks available throughout the afternoon.

Merchandise

If you have been eager to get the latest Newcastle United kit and look like your favourite Lasses player? Well, merchandise is available at the south end of the Tyne & Wear stand, with a larger retail pop-up store in the Mick Thornton Suite.

13:00 – Team news announced on social media

Don’t miss seeing the starting line-up – It goes live across social media before being read out in the stadium bowl as players warm up.

13:15 – Players out to warm up

With 45 minutes to go until kick-off, the players will be out to warm up. This is the perfect time to show off your chants and remind people the GIS is our home.

13:50 – Countdown to kick-off

Make sure to get those last-minute drinks, snacks and selfies, because you’ll want to be in your seat to soak up all the atmosphere ahead of the first Tyne-Wear derby this campaign.

14:00 – Kick-off

Grab a flag, be loud, be proud and give our Lasses a huge Geordie welcome onto the pitch and cheer them on to a winning derby day.

14:45 – Half-Time

Approximately 14:45, depending on stoppage time. With the 15-minute break, you can grab food and drinks, pick up some merchandise, head to the Creative or Fan Zone, or for the first time this season, enjoy our DJ Battle Sets as Emma Kelly and Elysia Boddy play their favourite tunes.

15:45 - 16:00 – Full-Time

Post-match, our players are always very appreciative of your support. However, after some time to reflect, the club would kindly ask supporters to refrain from giving gifts and presents to players after the game.

Accessibility: If you use a wheelchair, you can access all areas via the lift near the Sports Hall - our stewards are here to help.
